Sarah~Today, sitting in the surgical waiting room while my brother is undergoing surgery on his shoulder, I realized there has been a lot of praying to the Lord as Healer lately in my life, for myself and others: healing my brother's shoulder, my heart, Cambodia, my mom's friend's dad...
Healing Cambodia. I finish a memoir titled First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers. I know that God wants to heal these people and to be known an infinite amount more than my own heart desires as I wince and tear up at the thought of what happened in the 1960's genocide.
I start to flip through a CULTURE SHOCK booklet and read a few facts on Cambodia, specifically the capital where we're expected to be a majority of the time.
phnom in Phnom Penh means hill~
Interesting. Oh good, we can now go back to see my twin. I close the book and tuck it into my bag. Finally home from the hospital, my brother doing well (praise the Lord!) I search for verses listed to pray for girls that are sex-trafficked victims, for their oppressors, for the church on justice, etc.
One of them is from Matthew 5.
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden."

He is not only Healer but the Light of the world. Another prayer is given, not just for healing but for the people of Cambodia, for the girls in the orphanage, for this place of Phnom Penh- to believe Jesus and in turn shine, like a city on a hill. And for us as well as followers of Jesus in Cambodia to shine, too, like
a city on a phnom
It cannot be hidden. God be praised!
"Oh let Your kingdom come on earth, and let Your will be done- yeah, light up the world with Your love...our eyes will see the glory of God. As You light up...as You light up the world, send Your glory." Desperation Band, Light Up the World
